Why should you exfoliate your skin?

The scrub is exfoliating care that is used to eliminate dead cells, unclog pores and rid the face of impurities present on the surface of the skin. Exfoliation has many benefits, it helps stimulate cell renewal, unify skin tone irregularities, or even refine skin texture.

The different types of facial scrubs

1) Mechanical scrub

Mechanical exfoliation is the most traditional exfoliation. In mechanical scrubs, we find: grain scrubs, made up of tiny balls which generally come from sugar, salt, or even pieces of crushed fruit stones, they are often presented in the form of cream or gel. Be careful though with mechanical scrubs which are sometimes too abrasive and risk damaging the skin. At MonCornerB we are twice as careful about their composition to offer you very gentle scrubs that respect the skin's balance.

2) Enzymatic scrub

Unlike mechanical exfoliation, enzymatic exfoliation does not work by friction but thanks to agents which themselves get rid of dead cells. The enzymatic scrub can consist of salicylic acid, glycolic acid or fruit enzymes. This type of scrub, softer, is suitable for all skin types.

3) Alternatives to the classic scrub

There are other types of scrubs besides the usual exfoliators. These types of products can be applied more often or even daily compared to a classic exfoliation which will have to be done once or twice a week.

The exfoliating sponge: is an economical and ecological alternative. Unlike a product that lasts over time and does not require packaging, it works like a grain scrub, that is, by rubbing against the skin.

Lotion, serum, exfoliating cleanser: They are practical to integrate into a beauty routine, the two-in-one products are useful for people who are short of time or who simply do not want to accumulate too many products in the bathroom drawers!

How to choose your facial exfoliant according to your concerns?

  • Purifying

To get rid of impurities such as blackheads, sebum, or even blackheads, it is better to use a scrub based on salicylic acid (BHA). In addition to being exfoliating, salicylic acid, which comes from the willow tree, is also anti-inflammatory and purifying. It is an ideal ingredient for oily and/or blemish-prone skin that needs to be decongested to avoid microcysts and blackheads.

  • Composed of coffee and cocoa, two great antioxidant foods, the Nini Organics Anti Blemish Scrub detoxifies the skin and regulates the production of sebum. Rich in vitamin C, the skin is healthy and the complexion is unified.
  • The Tata Harper resurfacing mask is a treatment with pomegranate enzymes, it eliminates dead cells and unclogs pores. The skin is delicately exfoliated, it is smooth and regains its radiance.
  • Formulated with AHA, Okoko Clarity Elixir is a high-performance exfoliating serum, it considerably reduces imperfections. The results are visible very quickly, the skin texture is refined and the complexion is unified.

  • Anti-aging

For an anti-aging and plumping effect, scrubs with glycolic acid are recommended. Glycolic Acid, also called AHA, is an active ingredient obtained from sugar cane. It acts on the skin in-depth, it is the ideal ally for mature skin because it helps slow down age spots, wrinkles, and even loss of elasticity!

  • Formulated with fruit acids, the Miracle Mask with AHA Evolve acts like a peel and accelerates cell renewal. Rich in glycolic acid, the skin is plumped, hydrated and luminous.
  • The Resurfacing Dewy Bean Dream Lilfox Mask is a high-performance treatment that can be used as a night mask and promises glowing skin when you wake up. Composed of niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and bio-retinol, the skin is exfoliated, plumped and regenerated.
  • Radiance Glycolic Evolve Tonic Lotion is a liquid exfoliating treatment. Rich in AHA and BHA, it gets rid of dead cells. Ideal for tired skin which regains softness and luminosity from the first applications.
  • In addition to exfoliating the skin and unifying the complexion, Daily Acid Toner Josh Rosebrook lotion brightens dark spots and brings suppleness and elasticity to the skin. Formulated with rare plants and fruit acids, the skin is gently exfoliated.

  • Sensitive skin

For sensitive skin, exfoliation is a step that must be practiced with great delicacy. We recommend a gentle enzymatic scrub that removes dead cells without harming the skin.

  • The Nominoe grain-free scrub is a real moment of softness for sensitive skin. Designed using the latest innovations, its cream texture transforms into a peelable mask to rid the skin of dead cells and unclog pores.
  • With its balm texture, the On The Wild Side exfoliating mask pampers the most delicate skin. Formulated with rice powder and fruit acid, the mask exfoliates the skin without causing redness or irritation. The complexion is radiant and unified.
  • There are also mechanical scrubs designed especially for delicate skin such as the Virtuous Circle Paï facial scrub with jojoba microbeads, the beads are perfectly spherical, so there is no risk of abrasion unlike other types of particles. exfoliating which may be rougher.
  • Dull skin

The exfoliation step is very effective in combating dull complexion and lack of luminosity. By ridding the skin of dead cells, it helps reveal radiance and even out skin tone. The skin appears smoother and healthier.

  • The natural Bioactive Rose Odacity scrub gently exfoliates the skin thanks to its pineapple and papaya enzymes. Rich in hyaluronic acid, the treatment hydrates, and plumps the skin while leaving the complexion fresh and unified.
  • The Akane Granité radiance scrub is a treatment with a double exfoliating and illuminating action. It rids the skin of dead cells and reduces blemishes. Rich in antioxidant active ingredients, it protects the skin from skin aging. The complexion is smooth and luminous.

Integrate the scrub into your beauty routine

1) cleaning

I clean my face with my usual cleanser and moisten my skin with lukewarm water

2) I apply my exfoliant

Mechanical exfoliation: I apply my gel or my exfoliating cream all over my face, except the eye area and I massage gently in semi-circles for a few minutes.

Enzymatic exfoliation: I apply my peel all over my face, avoiding the eye area, and I leave it on for the indicated time.

3) I rinse thoroughly

I remove the scrub residue with lukewarm water and dry my face with a microfiber towel.

Exfoliation is an important step in a skincare routine because it allows the skin to prepare before receiving the treatments and promotes their absorption. It can be done once a week, or even twice a week if it's a very gentle exfoliant!
