Does facial massage really work?

At MonCornerB, we are convinced that facial massage is an essential beauty ritual. Massaging your skin stimulates blood circulation to better absorb essential nutrients, and also encourages lymphatic drainage.

Delay skin aging, get a brighter complexion, soft and plump skin ... facial massage has many benefits!
It's also a great way to connect with your skin, to listen to it.

Often sloppy, bad gestures can cause irritation, wrinkles, and inflammation. The keyword? Kindness!
Even if you think that your skin is far from perfect, that it shines too much, has too many blemishes and redness... it is important to take the time to pamper it and always treat it gently.
Creating a self-care ritual, taking the time to massage your face, and enjoying a sensory experience teaches us to love our skin and you can tell: it is more beautiful day after day.

MonCornerB skincare ritual was first and foremost designed to escape the stress of everyday life and enjoy a relaxing break from our busy days.

You will see, repeating this simple ritual every day helps to feel good about yourself!

Our advice?  Choose oils and balms, ideal for practicing facial massage. Select treatments enriched with therapeutic essential oils, whose smells are designed to have a specific action on your mind.

The ritual varies according to the time of day: while the morning ritual will be more energetic and quick, the evening ritual is an opportunity to take more time to eliminate all the worries of the day and relax the skin that has suffered external aggression.

My 5 minute morning selfcare ritual


SKINCARE ROUTINE:

Cleansing :

No need for deep cleansing, just take a reusable cleansing pad soaked with hydrolate or toner to get rid of the impurities of the night and wake up the skin.

Tips:

  • Keep your toner in the fridge for an ultra-fresh and decongesting effect
  • If you suffer from under-eye puffiness, place two reusable cotton pads soaked with cornflower or rose water on your eyes and let it sit for a few seconds. 
  • If you have sweated during the night, you feel that your skin is a little "dirty" or that you have combination to oily skin, you can use a gentle cleanser of your choice followed by a toner.

Hydration:

  • Apply your eye contour by gently tapping where you can feel the orbital bone.

  •  If you use a face oil or balm: put a few drops of oil or a small dab of balm in your palm, rubb your hands against each other to activate the product, and spread it evenly.
    Cup your hands around your nose and take a deep breath, then exhale.
    Apply the oil (or balm) by pressing it firmly on wet skin, as if to push the product into the skin.
    (Optional) Follow by a lifting massage: using your fingertips, smooth your features on the forehead, cheeks, chin, and neck, in up out outwards motions.

  • If you use a cream: Apply it in lifting motions, always up and outwards.

  • If you use an additional serum, it applies before the cream or oil or is mixed directly with.

  • Don’t forget the neck! Take the extra oil and cream to your neck and apply it always in upwards motions.

Energizing facial massage: 4 steps to wake up your skin

(optional)

  • Always start a facial massage by warming your hands, rubbing them against each other.

  • Gently tap your fingers all over your face to activate blood circulation

  • Wake up the eye: stimulate the inner corner of the eye by gently massaging it in circular motions using the fingertips, from the inside to the outside. Pinch your eyebrows between thumb and forefinger from the nose to the temples.

  • Finish with the ears (a key point to stimulate energy): Place your fingers on your ears as if you wanted to pinch them and knead from the top of the ear to the lobe, then the other way.

My night self-care ritual: time to relax!

Instead of being a chore, removing your makeup becomes a real moment of pleasure, and the first essential step of your skincare routine.
Indulge with a deep cleansing and nourishing ritual that only takes a few minutes and that your skin will love.

The evening ritual is the perfect time to release pressure and tension, to unwind. It is if you ask us the best moment of the day, that you are really looking forward to and that allows you to be ready for a good evening.

You not only remove makeup and dirt but also let go of all the stress and worries of everyday life.

CLEANSING

First step: Relax all the face muscles

Once it is done, your skin is ready for a double cleansing inspired by thelayering technique that the Japanese women (and ourselves) swear by.
This is undoubtedly the best method to remove all impurities, makeup, sunscreen, and pollution residues that build up on the surface of your skin.

1st cleansing: Use an oil-based cleanser (cleansing oil or balm)

The ritual :

  • Dispense the necessary amount of oil or balm in the palm of your hands, then rub palms against each other to activate the oils and distribute the product evenly between the two hands.

  • Cup your hands around your nose and take a deep breath, then exhale to let go of all the stress and tensions of the day. Repeat 3 times.
    Tip: Think of things that bring you joy and happiness when you inhale and release all worries when you exhale.

  • Spread the product on the entire face, then start massaging from the jawline to the forehead in circular, up, and outwards motion

The relaxing facial massage that revolutionizes makeup removal

If you want to take the time to do a relaxing massage (optional):

We start with the region of the lymph nodes: located under the ears on either side of the neck, these are where the toxins flow. Massaging them helps release toxins to prevent them from building up on our faces.
The right gesture: We perform large circular movements starting from behind the ears towards the throat and along the jaw

We then work the jaw:
With the hands in the prayer position, we place the tip of the index finger under the jaw and the middle finger above, while holding the chin "pinched".
We slide our fingers along the jaw towards the ears. The middle finger is placed in front of the ear going up to the temple, and the index finger and thumb are placed behind the ear. We finish the movement by going back down to the clavicle.
Repeat 3 times.
